TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

In art, what is true in practice is likely to be true in principle, as well. So art instruction, to be credible, should be founded on experience. Not all of it can be taught, but enough can be given for students to find the rest themselves. A good start is made by studying all the artists who have done it best.
